“To Cook Food” means to heat it in order to make certain changes to it. We've listed the most common cooking techniques with easy to follow guidelines:

Pan Fry

To cook in a moderate amount of fat in an uncovered pan

Stir fry

To cook with a small amount of oil in a very hot uncovered pan (wok)

Grill

To cook on an open grid over/under a heat source

Roast

To cook food by surrounding it by hot dry air in an oven or on a spit in front of a fire

Braise

To cook food covered in a small amount of liquid

Roasting Bag

To cook food in a bag which browns the meat without basting

Barbeque

To cook food with dry heat created by the burning of charcoal/hot coals
