Blacker Hall Farm Shop, West Yorkshire
Posted on: Sep 28 2012
Since being established in 1999, Blacker Hall Farm Shop has built an outstanding reputation for selling locally sourced, superior quality produce. The shop is owned by the Garthwaite family who run a local farming enterprise which supplies the majority of the beef, lamb and pork for the farm shop.
The butchery department is renowned for its superior produce, skilled butchers and traditional butchery methods. This has been recognised with a number of awards:
• Great Taste Awards for their pork, bacon, beef sirloin, rack of lamb, sausage roll and ox tongue
• Best Roast Beef in England (EBLEX George Awards)
• FARMA award’s Best On-Farm Butchery 2011
• Runner up in the FARMA Farm Retailer of the Year 2011
The butchers make all their own sausages, dry cured and smoked bacon, burgers and ready-to-cook products to award-winning recipes. The farm shop also contains a bakery stocked with freshly made products including bread, fruit scones and cakes. The bakery team make everything from scratch and many of the products are sold in Blackerhall Farm’s Barn Coffee Shop. Their delicatessen also offers a huge selection of freshly made produce, including seven varieties of quiche, pies and pastries, sandwiches using their own bakery bread, home cooked meats, charcuterie, cheeses and antipasti.
